Within the Eclipse

Shapeshifting selenite
crystals formed from the salt
of sunshine
stabbing 'round the contours of the
curtains drawn searching
for the chiaroscuro world we've drawn
in our illicit varnish,
in which things are colored
the way they're colored
without the sun's harness
collared 'round their necks. I see

solar waves searing 'cross
the Saturnal rings of our mug
stains seemingly,
through my waning lashes,
steaming in this lubricated
silence. I rest,

slacklining on the edge
of your vermilion border
is where I seek my
soothing fear
while your syllables of rapture
go slipping down my spinal valley
stroking as you're pressed against my
solar plexus, and they
meet my rising qi
the way a wave receding meets
the one that's gushing forth on the
silverlinings of the sea.
